Frequently Asked Questions

What is an appraisal?

A home appraisal is a process that finds the fair market value of a property. Most real estate transactions require an appraisal to ensure both the buyer and the seller know an appropriate monetary value of the property. The valuation is unbiased and is determined by a variety of different measures.

What makes up the appraisal?

The appraisal value is influenced by the home’s amenities, such as number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, the floor plan and square footage. Your appraiser will perform a visual inspection on the interior and exterior of the home. Additionally, the appraiser will review recent sales of similar properties in the area and take into account market trends.
